Waxberry Collection

In this series, the elements that inform my design are actual seeds. They are cast from molds and reproduced in precious metals. I love how the texture translates in metal, when polished the berries glitter like diamonds. The collection’s inspiration comes from a special Bayberry Bush, a native to Northern California. The seeds contain a wax-like substance that can be used to make candles and soaps. This prolific bush grows along the Pacific coast providing food and safe shelter for many birds. Each seed is approximately 1/8″ x 1/8″.
